(Appleton, Wis., November 1, 2013) Encapsys®, the microencapsulation division of Appvion, Inc., has earned its third consecutive business partner of excellence award as one of Procter & Gamble’s top-performing suppliers. The recognition came at P&G’s annual external business partner recognition event held recently in Cincinnati.
The recognition again places Encapsys in an elite group of nearly 80 of P&G’s more than 82,000 suppliers and agencies to be recognized for performing consistently at high levels within P&G’s internal performance management system. P&G staff in multiple functions rated suppliers in areas including technical capabilities, service responsiveness and senior-management involvement.
Encapsys, which microencapsulates perfume for P&G, was among 36 of this year’s excellence award winners who were also winners in 2012. Encapsys earned its first supplier recognition award from P&G in 2008.
Speaking at the event, A.G. Lafley, P&G’s chairman, president and chief executive officer, said: "For P&G, the primary drivers of growth and value creation are innovation and productivity. P&G’s external business partners help us deliver both, creating value for consumers, customers and shareholders alike."
Lafley added that the collective capabilities of the companies and individuals in P&G’s global partner network offered a powerful competitive advantage.
P&G’s global product supply officer Yannis Skoufalos noted, “Product Supply works hand-in-hand with our supply chain partners, exploring every aspect to innovate, drive out costs, and serve our customers and consumers better. When we collaborate with our supply chain partners, we create consumer value and competitive advantage for P&G.”
“I’m proud of the attitudes and achievements of our team in earning this award,” said Mary Goggans, executive director and general manager of Encapsys. She added that the multiple supplier awards Encapsys has received from P&G confirms the strong partnership the two organizations have built.
“The P&G team sees our passion, our commitment to improvement, our respect for everyone, and our teamwork, and knows that they can count on us to be an extraordinary partner,” said Goggans. “We are excited about the opportunities we have with P&G that will help fuel continued growth of our Encapsys business.”
