The Challenge

P&G describes innovation as its lifeblood. It is a driving force throughout P&G's business and an important differentiator for its brands. P&G was looking for a way to create a longer-lasting scent for some of its leading brands and specifically were considering microencapsulation. That's where Encapsys came in.

The Partnership

Microencapsulation is as much an art as it is a science. At the start of the partnership, we shared with P&G our commitment to excellence and our readiness to deliver a successful solution for their business needs. We understood this was going to be a large-scale global effort and would require a significant commitment across our organization. But we knew we could do it and we made the necessary changes in staffing, investments and in our manufacturing processes to make it happen.

The Results

Working closely with P&G, we created a microcapsule that was strong enough to perform as needed, helping P&G deliver a heightened consumer experience while also meeting their business needs. It was the solution P&G was looking for.

In 2009, P&G recognized Appleton as one of only 61 recipients of their Supplier Excellence Awards among a pool of 80,000 global suppliers.
